It is important for children to be exposed to their mom and dad’s interests. Forcing children to participate in an adult’s most engaging work task or hobby is not always well received by little ones but it is important for children to at least be in the vicinity while a parent is playing an instrument, gardening, swimming, sewing, or anything else that brings mom or dad joy. Even when time is valuable children benefit a great deal from seeing their parents accomplish wonderful things that are not directly related to them.
